Ruamrudee International School

Ruam18Ruamrudee International School spans seven decades. Ruamrudee,
a Thai word meaning “Union of Hearts”, perfectly captures our philosophy of welcoming all children in an environment of care and concern. Our foundational
focus on values, character education, and global citizenship, along with a
challenging and stimulating academic environment, prepare our graduates for success in the 21st century with all of its accompanying technological,
sociological and creative challenges.

RIS is a private, not for profit, independent school and was the first WASC accredited school in Thailand. Based on the reality that students learn best with programs which provide challenges suiting their ability, achievement, motivation and interest, RIS offers students a choice between the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program and Advanced Placement track as well as a modified American curriculum. Our IB and AP graduates consistently score well above world averages and have a long history of attending prestigious universities worldwide. RIS faculty represent prestigious colleges and universities from around the world, with over 76% holding Masters or Doctorate degrees.
Multiple performing arts and athletic venues, service oriented clubs and extended day programs allow students to pursue their passion and to showcase their talents. Students who live on campus enjoy a contemporary college style dorm residence in a safe and secure clean-air suburb of Bangkok. Our full-time residence coordinator, along with our full time house parent and staff, provide practical advice and emotional support as well as ensure the security of every student under their care.
We welcome you on campus for a tour and invite your child to experience our Spend-a-Day program.

School Principles
RIS students are creative, open minded and critical thinkers. They are effective communicators and are collaborative and resourceful individuals; they embrace diversity. They are committed to leading happy and healthy lives and help others to do the same. The engagement of Head, Hands, Heart is integral to our curricular beliefs, and drives our instructional and assessment practices.
RIS teachers are thoroughly dedicated professionals who hold their students in the highest regard. We are collegial team members who are knowledgeable about our assigned content areas and are committed to the moral purpose of the school. We are technologically literate and use a variety of strategies to meet curricular outcomes, student abilities, and learning styles. Engaging in ongoing professional development related to teaching and learning and sharing that experience is an integral part of our culture.
